How to delete cell in Excel shortcut (Ctrl + -)

When deleting a cell, most of us probably right-click with the mouse to delete it. Or you may delete a string of text or other information in a cell and then cut and paste it from an adjacent cell. Such a method is inefficient. There is a shortcut key for deleting a cell, which can help you work more efficiently and increase your productivity.

Select a cell

Select a cell

Select the cell you want to delete.

Display the Delete dialog box

Press Ctrl + - (minus) or Alt + H + D + D to display the Delete dialog box.

Cell deletion is complete

Finish deleting the cells

Select Shift cells left and press Enter. The cell next to the right has been moved one cell to the left. When you delete a cell, if you want to pack the cell one cell below one cell up, select Shift cells up and press Enter.

Select the cells you want to delete.

Select Delete

Press the Shift + F10 to display the context menu.

Press the D to display the Delete dialog box.

Finish deleting the cells

Select Shift cells left and press Enter. The deletion of the cell has been completed.

The cell next to the right has been moved one cell to the left.

When you delete a cell, if you want to pack the cell one cell below one cell up, select Shift cells up and press Enter.
