## Drag formula Excel shortcut

To copy a formula by dragging, drag the fill handle in the lower right corner of the cell down or to the right, but this time I will show you how to drag a formula down or to the right using the shortcut keys. If you learn how to do it with the shortcut key, you won’t have to wait for all the cells to finish dragging when you copy the formula.

### Dragging a formula

Windows**Ctrl** + **Enter**

Mac**command** + **return** or **control** + **return**

### Drag the formula to copy it

Copy the formula without using autofill.

#### Select a cell

Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.

#### Select all the cells to copy the formula

Use **Shift** + **↓** (Down Arrow key) to select all the cells where the formula was dragged and copied. If you want to copy the formula to a cell on the right side, use Shift + → (Right Arrow key) to select a cell in the same row.

#### Enter the formula

Enter the formula in the topmost cell of the selected cells.

#### The formula will be copied

Press **Ctrl** + **Enter** to copy the formula to all selected cells.
