Prepare any sheet

Open a sheet

Column D contains the formula to derive the total from the price and quantity.

Change the value

Change the value

Change the quantity of Apple in cell C2 and press Enter. The total in cell D2 will not change because it is a manual calculation.

Sheet is refreshed

Press Shift + F9

Press Shift + F9 refreshes the sheet and changes the total in cell D2.

Refresh all sheets in the book

If manual calculations are set up, here is how to refresh all sheets in the book using shortcut keys. In this case, we will use a list of fruit sales.

Change the value

In the January and February sheets, a formula is entered in column D to derive the total from the price and quantity.

The quantity of apples in cell C2 has changed, but the total has not changed due to manual calculations.

Change the value

Press Ctrl + PgDn to see the February sheet.

The February sheet also has the quantity in cell C2 changed, but the total has not been changed due to manual calculations.

Other sheets have changed.

Press F9 to refresh the sheet and change the total.

Press Ctrl + PgUp to see the January sheet. The January sheet also shows the totals changing.

Change the values of two sheets

Two books are open.

Changed the values in cell C2 on both sheets, but the totals are not calculated correctly due to manual calculations.

All seats are refreshed

Press Ctrl + Alt + F9 or Ctrl + Alt + Shift + F9 refreshes all sheets in all books, so the totals for both sheets have been recalculated.

If Ctrl + Alt + Shift + F9 is pressed, the formula is recalculated, including dependent formulas.
